PAST PRODUCTIONS
The Talentz are one of the few Youth Musical Theatre companies who regularly produce our own professional standard, live stage productions in major public venues, including professional theatres and festivals with live music.
The foundation of everything we do lies in the growth and development of our students, to help them find and progress their skills, by giving them the opportunity to perform live in exciting venues. We also provide opportunities to learn and experience working in the non performing areas of our productions, including stage management, sound & lighting, set & costume design & construction and wardrobe & makeup, all under the experienced supervision of industry professionals.
We produce a multitude of live performances throughout the year including;
- Spring Production – our annual big musical, set in a professional theatre, featuring full lighting and sound design, intricate set and costumes, giving everyone involved a full production experience, providing them insight into every aspect of preparing and putting on a full professional show.
- Pantomime – our January pantomime, set in a professional theatre, starring a huge range of our student performers from as young as 4 years old, featuring a live band, extravagant costumes and huge amounts of fun!
- Edinburgh Fringe Festival – The Talentz are an attraction every year at the world famous Festival, the world’s largest Arts festival – for the last three years we have had sell-out runs! As well as putting on our own popular productions, we take our students for a memorable week, to enjoy the festival’s environment of culture and fun, as well as working hard on our own show!
- Showcase – our annual celebration of the years work of our students, hosted at the EM Forster Theatre, featuring a live professional band, full production including lighting and sound design.
- Local Performances – our students perform at a range of local festivals and venues throughout the year, often supporting incredible charities and communities. A highlight of our year is performing for the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon – which we have performed at for the last three years. From these performances, the Half Marathon team kindly donate some money which helps to sponsor a student’s place on our Edinburgh Trip, who otherwise might not be able to come!
